Fighting, dancing, acrobatics and music - a little bit of everything - that is Capoeira! This sport comes from the plantations of Brazil and is closely interwoven with the struggle for freedom of the slaves who were taken there. Capoeira is not a conventional martial art - which does not mean that it has nothing to do with fighting. Because the "game" with the partner can be very combative as well as very playful or acrobatic. All this takes place in a circle of capoeiristas, the roda, who create the necessary atmosphere for capoeira with their instruments, clapping and singing. Accordingly, in capoeira one learns not only the necessary offensive and defensive techniques, but also a variety of acrobatic exercises and the use of typical instruments, including songs sung in Brazilian Portuguese.
