Discover the richness of Argentine folklore through two of its most iconic dances: Zamba and Chacarera. In this special workshop, we will explore the rhythm, musicality, and physical expression of each dance, combining technique and tradition in a dynamic and participatory environment.

Zamba is a dance of circular energy and constant flow. Its movement is marked by the interaction with the pañuelo (handkerchief), which is not only a scenic element but an extension of the body and a vehicle of intention. We will explore this dance of air and wave-like motion, where the body does not anchor to the ground but plays with soft displacements, enveloping turns, and a sway that suggests a continuous dialogue. Zamba is an exploration of presence and gaze.

Chacarera is a dance rooted in the earth and connection with the ground. Its rhythm is pulsating and plays with the balance between tension and relaxation. We will explore this dance as a game of opposition between the individual and the collective, where each person inhabits the space with firm energy while maintaining a constant dialogue with others. Its movements can be understood as a rhythmic conversation where the body translates the pulse of the music into motion.

Both dances invite you to explore different physical and emotional states: the airborne fluidity of the Zamba and the earthly connection of the Chacarera. Both allow you to work with improvisation within their structure, leading you to experience musicality and expressiveness in a more organic and free way.
