Somatic Yoga Therapy is a specific approach to yoga therapy. It adapts classical yoga poses for bodies with a history of trauma/ injury and incorporates nervous system practices to address subconscious protective patterns occurring due to trauma/ injury. It aims to offer a new and fresh perspective on pain, which is commonly interpreted as 'bad', as a way for the body to communicate its needs. It introduces a new way of movement in which the protective patterns are respected, allowing their transformation and preventing possible long-term restriction of movement. Somatic Yoga Therapy is an inclusive practice suitable for those who wish to deepen their practice by bringing awareness to the small movements as well as those with chronic pain in the neck, lower back or the knees.
It is recommended to attend the class Breath - Body - Mind (BBM), hosted directly after this course.
